The “Greatest Movie Musical of All Time” is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin’ in the Rain JR. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin’ in the Rain JR. a guaranteed good time for performers and audience members alike.

Singin’ in the Rain JR. has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline — the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren’t always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina’s squeaky voice might be the end of her career in “talking pictures” without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

Group auditions will be held on Saturday 15th June from 2pm at the MBTC venue. This will include group activities, script reading, vocal work/audition and movement exercises. All participants are required to stay for the duration of the audition to receive maximum benefits from the process.

No experience is required, all performance levels are encouraged and will be catered to accordingly, our goal is for everyone to have a fun experience.

No preparation is necessary but ensure that dance-appropriate clothing and footwear is worn. Please bring a water bottle.

The workshop will run from Monday 1st to Friday 5th July from 9am to 4pm each day. We will run on a specific schedule taking into account blocking, vocals and choreography to ensure that all performers remain actively learning. This schedule will be distributed at the beginning of the week with full staff contacts.

Each session will be supervised by representatives of the creative team, as well as other helpers representing MBYT. MBTC and MBYT emphasise the importance of having passionate and qualified instructors. Legally Blonde Jr will be coordinated by a team of young people with extensive experience and ongoing education in their fields to ensure that students are given the best possible training and performance experience in a nurturing and enjoyable environment.

The theatre will be accessible and supervised from 8am to 6pm each day in the event that any performer cannot be dropped off or collected immediately before or after the day’s workshop. Lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Please ensure you have a named water bottle.
